We like to keep things simple, and the focus on having fun. As such, our club member prices really are quite cheap. So cheap, they are free.
There are 2 components to our membership – our actual club membership as well as registration with Mountain Bike Australia and/or Cycling Victoria.
Why a membership fee?
The fee payable to MTBA / CV allows you access to all of the benefits offered by them and importantly, means you have personal accident insurance. It also means you can, with the right type of membership, enter competition races.
So what does it cost?
Club membership is free. We want to encourage as many people as possible to join our club. There is a catch – you need to make sure you have an appropriate level of personal health insurance should something happen. We recommend MTBA or CV, however you might also be covered via Triathlon Australia or your own personal insurance for example. The important thing is to check and be satisfied with your level of coverage as we as a club will not be liable if you injure yourself.
Which membership should I get?
Well, that’s up to you. If you just want to ride socially, then a recreational membership might be the best option. If you plan on racing a lot, then the racing membership will probably be best. If you have a recreational membership but want to race, most races will offer a ‘day race licence’, just check with the race organisers in advance.
I’m new and just want to try it out?
Cool, MTBA offer free 8 week recreational licences, and you still get the same benefits.
How do I join?
The button below will take you to where you need to go. When going through the new or renew membership process you will be asked to select a club. Just search for VOGA Cycle Club in Creswick.
